For seven seasons viewers watched Olivia Pope strut effortlessly up and down an alternative 1600 Penn while the state of the Republic crumbled beneath her heels. Between her illicit affair with the white President, and her father heading a nefarious outfit of rogue assassins, ABC’s Scandal was Thursday night TV during and post the Obama age.

One for the history books as it not only broke the mold for black women behind and on screen, Scandal transformed the way we consumed television with the power of live-tweeting. A show can live or die not just by bad ratings, but with a lack of hashtags.
