The concept for a film based on a character from a commercial seemed ridiculous. And it was. The film Uncle Drew starring Rel, Kyrie Irving and a host of NBA players and personalities didn’t crack anyone up at the box office. However it did produce a thing called a soundtrack, something that used to go hand-in-hand with black films of the 90s and early 00s.
This track is pulled from that compilation of fun, nostalgic goodness. It stars R&B up-and-comer Tone Stith channeling his best new jack swing. Accompanied by 2 Chainz, the song feels like 1989 for the 20 and 18. Get into it and watch him – he’s next.
