Ever since it was announced at last year’s Game Awards, Mortal Kombat 11 has occupied my social media conscious. From the moment I pre-ordered, through the various character reveals, there’s no other game I have anticipated since Injustice 2 and MK X.
Growing up I spent my elementary days in the middle of my bustling mall, glued to the Mortal Kombat II arcade. And at its peak, MK: Trilogy consumed hours of my life. Weak entries aside, the franchise returned to form with the reboot, setting MK for the future. And its sequels have once again changed the genre of fighting games.
This final launch trailer reminds us of its 90s greatness, pairing the new gameplay with its epic film soundtrack. April 23 I’ll be transfixed in front of my 50 inch flat screen, pillaging through this newest story.
